The Artist

The self-described ‘Queen of Wonky’, Sam will tell you how she could only draw matchstick people before her brain injury. Her drawings now are intensely detailed, with an inimitable style that means her work is instantly recognisable. After beginning with a simple but powerful series of self-portraits, Sam’s recent work explores pattern and texture, with the occasional foray into colour. Her work has been widely exhibited, with a number of commissions and print sales, and Sam is fully embracing her new identity as an artist.

Exhibitions:
2016, Pictures In Detail, Outpost Gallery, London
2017, Making Faces, Southbank Centre, London
2018, Intricate Identities, Dugdale Centre, London
2020, Common Threads, Autograph, London (date TBC)
